Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron shared a car ride in Mumbai on Feb 17 as they travelled to the India-France Innovation Forum, in a symbolic gesture underscoring the close ties between the two nations.
The two leaders departed together after holding bilateral and delegation-level talks at Lok Bhavan, heading towards a series of engagements, including the Innovation Forum. President Macron later shared a photograph of the moment on social media with the caption “Jai Ho”, highlighting the warmth of the interaction.
Mr Modi also posted a candid image of the two seated side by side in the vehicle, noting that they were on their way to participate in key programmes following official discussions and press statements.
The gesture reflected the personal rapport between the leaders during Mr Macron’s India visit, with Mr Modi’s recent diplomatic engagements increasingly marked by such informal interactions aimed at strengthening bilateral relationships.
Earlier, both leaders held talks focused on enhancing cooperation in trade, defence, energy and critical technologies, reaffirming their commitment to the India-France Strategic Partnership.
