Shreya Murthy, a dance alumna from the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society (Sifas), was inducted into the Live4You Hall of Fame in Chennai recently.
The 20-year-old, who is pursuing advanced training in Bharatanatyam in Chennai under guru Priyadarsini Govind, was the only Singaporean to get the honour, for which there were applicants from around the globe.
Live4You Hall of Fame was founded by Mr Prakash RSV to recognise emerging talents in music and dance.
This year, it inducted 31 artistes from India and overseas, including Shreya.
The judges included musicians A.S. Murali, Nityasree Mahadevan, Sikkil Gurucharan, Delhi P. Sunder Rajan and Neyveli Narayanan and dance exponents Roja Kannan, Radhika Shurajit and Himaja Athul Kumar.
Shreya, who started learning Bharatanatyam at Sifas at the age of six, received a trophy and cash award.
Live4You Hall of Fame will promote her in India, and provide support to pursue further Bharatanatyam training.
