Secular charity Sree Narayana MIssion (SNM) Singapore has appointed healthcare veteran Bernie Poh as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) designate from Wednesday (Nov 4).
Mr Poh will work alongside current CEO S Devendran during a planned handover before formally assuming the role of CEO on 1 December 2026, the mission said in a statement.
“The leadership transition follows a succession planning process initiated several months ago by the Executive Committee (EXCO) alongside the Succession Planning Task Force, which undertook an extensive search to identify the next CEO,” it explained.
Mr Devendran will be stepping down after 10 years.
SNM (Singapore) President Anil Sarasijakshan said “We extend our sincere appreciation to Mr S Devendran for his decade of dedicated leadership and service to SNM (Singapore). His contributions have played an important role in the organisation’s growth and development.
“ We warmly welcome Mr Bernie Poh and look forward to working with him as he assumes the leadership role and helms the organisation into its next chapter. The planned transition provides for a structured handover, ensuring seamless leadership transition and the continued delivery of our mission and commitment to the seniors we serve, their families and the wider community.”
Mr Poh brings over 20 years of senior leadership experience across the healthcare and eldercare sectors, having held Chief Executive Officer positions at multiple healthcare organisations. His experience spans strategic leadership, organisational development, operational management, and the oversight of complex healthcare and residential care services.
SNM (Singapore) operates two Ministry of Health-appointed nursing homes — SNM Nursing Home@Chong Pang and SNM Nursing Home@Riverwalk — with a third facility, SNM Nursing Home@Chencharu, scheduled to open in 2028.
Beyond residential care, it also runs three Senior Care Centres and two Active Ageing Centres, strengthening community-based support and ageing-in-place initiatives. SNM (Singapore) also manages Meranti Home @ Pelangi Village, a psychiatric welfare home for destitute men, appointed by the Ministry of Social and Family Development, serving vulnerable individuals with complex psychosocial needs.
