SPH Media has announced a leadership and board refresh, with former chief executive Chan Yeng Kit taking on the role of executive chairman of SPH Media Trust from Oct 1. He succeeds Khaw Boon Wan, who is retiring after five years as chairman.
Former Deputy CEO Kuek Yu Chuang has been appointed managing director, taking charge of day-to-day operations and the organisation’s immediate to medium term growth plans. Four new directors – Mohamed Irshad, Edward Chen, Kohe Hasan and Liew Wei Li – will join the SPH Media Holdings Board, bringing expertise spanning corporate affairs, artificial intelligence, investment and education.
Four existing directors: Patrick Daniel, Lee Yi Shyan, Lim Mei and Bahren Shaari will retire. The changes come as SPH Media continues its digital transformation, with the organisation highlighting technology, innovation and trusted journalism as priorities in a rapidly changing media landscape.
