The High Commission of India (HCI) has announced the opening of two new Indian Consular Application Centres (ICACs) from Oct 1, marking a transition in service providers for Singapore residents and visitors.

The new centres will be operated by Alankit Assignments, which provides financial and e-governance services operating as the flagship company of the larger India-based Alankit Group, and will begin functioning at two locations: Unit 11-03, The Bencoolen Office Tower, 180B Bencoolen Street, Singapore 189648 and IOB Building, 64 Cecil Street, Unit 06-05, Singapore 049711.

These centres will provide the full range of consular services, including passport and visa processing, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) applications, driving licence services, birth and marriage registration, powers of attorney, and document attestation.

This is the first time Alankit Assignments has partnered with the HCI in Singapore to deliver consular services.

Appointments for Oct 1 onwards are now available for booking at https://singapore.alankitglobal.com

Until Sept 30, the outgoing vendor BLS International will continue to honour its existing appointments at its two locations – International Plaza and Sim Lim Tower.

BLS has been managing consular services in Singapore since May 30, 2016. Before BLS, the services were handled by VFS Global.

The shift from BLS to Alankit follows a tender process initiated by the HCI to renew its consular services contract.

A call centre representative from BLS International said the company will release further details on the transition in the coming days.

For Singapore’s Indian diaspora, the new centres are expected to provide continuity while also introducing a fresh service partner at the helm.

The HCI noted that both locations have been selected to ensure accessibility and convenience for applicants across the city.

With this change, the HCI aims to streamline operations, reduce wait times, and maintain a high standard of service.
