Minister of State (MOS) for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Industry Gan Siow Huang is on an official visit to India from Nov 12 to 14, aimed at deepening bilateral economic ties and expanding partnerships across technology, urban development, logistics, and enterprise cooperation.
MOS Gan began her trip on Nov 13 in Bengaluru, Karnataka, where she was scheduled to attend the opening of the Singapore Business Federation’s Singapore Enterprise Centre (SEC), the Ministry of Trade and Industry said in a press release.
The new SEC will serve as a key platform to help Singapore companies navigate India’s fast-growing market and scale their operations across the country.
At the launch, MOS Gan would witness the signing of an MOU between Singapore firm LAC Global and India’s JVKM Consultants, marking LAC Global’s entry into India.
Later on Nov 13, she was set to travel to Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, where she would join Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs K. Shanmugam for the 30th Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit, one of India’s premier economic forums.
Both ministers were scheduled to participate in the opening plenary alongside overseas trade ministers.
A key highlight of the visit will be the signing of an Andhra Pradesh–Singapore MOU, witnessed by MOS Gan and Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh.
The agreement sets out a framework for cooperation in sustainable urban governance, digital transformation, human resource development, and sustainable economic growth, reinforcing Singapore’s long-standing role as a partner in Andhra Pradesh’s development.
MOS Gan will also hold meetings with senior Indian leaders, including Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, as well as key business representatives.
Her programme includes visits to Worldwide Flight Services, Air India-SATS Logistics Park, and SATS Food Solutions India Central Kitchen, where she will explore opportunities for deeper collaboration in logistics, aviation services, and food-solutions innovation.
The visit underscores Singapore’s commitment to strengthening its economic footprint in India and supporting enterprises from both nations in tapping emerging opportunities.
