The Indian Air Force’s (IAF) celebrated Sarang Helicopter Display Team has touched down in Singapore and is set to captivate audiences at the Singapore Airshow 2026 with its high-energy aerial ballet.

Returning after a stellar appearance in 2024, the team will perform during the biennial event held from Feb 3 to 9 at the Changi Exhibition Centre.

Sarang – which means “peacock” in Sanskrit – is the world’s only four-helicopter military aerobatic team, showcasing the agility and precision of India’s indigenously developed Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH).

The team will be among six elite international military air display groups featured at the airshow, along with two commercial aviation showcases.

In a social media post on arrival, the Sarang team declared: “Singapore, we’ve arrived! Get ready to look up. This is going to be spectacular!”

Symbol of Skill, Grace, and Indigenous Innovation

The Sarang team, known for its dazzling synchronised maneuvers and close-formation flying, operates the HAL Dhruv ALH Mk I – a product of India’s Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.

The aircraft’s advanced capabilities allow the pilots to execute signature moves such as the Sarang Split, Diamond Formation, and the Wine Glass Formation – all of which demand immense coordination and control.

Sarang’s participation also underscores India’s growing indigenous aerospace capabilities and the IAF’s global standing.

Since making their international debut at the 2004 Asian Aerospace Show in Singapore, the team has performed over 1,200 displays at more than 390 venues around the world, including appearances at the Dubai Airshow and past Singapore editions.

In addition to their display duties, Sarang pilots are also operational aircrew, often deployed in real-life missions, including humanitarian rescue operations in disaster-struck areas such as Uttarakhand, Chennai, and Kerala.

Star-Studded Line-Up for 2026

The Singapore Airshow 2026 promises a thrilling spectacle, with aerial displays by the Republic of Singapore Air Force’s Integrated Display Team featuring the F-16C fighter jet and AH-64D Apache helicopter. Making its debut will be the Royal Australian Air Force’s F-35A Lightning II, an advanced fifth-generation stealth fighter.

Other performers include Indonesia’s Jupiter aerobatic team, China’s Bayi team from the People’s Liberation Army Air Force, and Malaysia’s Sukhoi Su-30MKM fighter jet. The commercial segment will feature the Airbus A350-1000 and the Chinese-built COMAC C919.

Experia Events Managing Director Leck Chet Lam said the flying displays remain a major highlight: “We are pleased to present a diverse mix of military and commercial aircraft that showcases both cutting-edge technology and the skill of aircrew from around the world.”

Public Viewing on Feb 7–8

While the airshow runs from February 3 to 9, the public will have access during Weekend@Airshow on February 7 and 8. Sarang’s performances are scheduled during the public days, with flying displays at 11am and 3:30pm. Tickets are available via SISTIC.
