The Global Indian International School (GIIS) East Coast campus came alive with colour, music, and patriotism as students, parents, and staff celebrated Singapore’s 60th National Day in a vibrant community event that combined tradition with innovation.

The celebrations opened with a cultural extravaganza showcasing the nation’s multicultural heritage. Students across all grade levels performed traditional dances, stirring parades, and heartfelt renditions of national songs, capturing the spirit of Majulah Singapura.

The performances highlighted the unity and diversity that form the foundation of Singapore’s national identity.

A key highlight of the day was the inauguration of the Quantum Lab, a state-of-the-art facility designed to encourage future-ready learning and innovation.

In the Innovation Lab, students also displayed their creativity by re-imagining the GIIS logo using modern design tools, blending technology with school pride.

In another significant development, the school further strengthened its global outlook by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Xiangjun Peicui Experimental Middle School in Changsha, China.

The partnership aims to promote cross-cultural exchanges and collaborative projects, providing students with opportunities to broaden their international perspectives.

The event was graced by Guests of Honour Mayank Nauni, Senior Principal Technologist, and Mr. Rajeev Katyal, CEO of Global Schools Group. In their addresses, they urged students to uphold excellence, embrace innovation, and remain committed to unity in diversity.
