The Rotary Club of Singapore arranged a heartfelt Deepavali celebration for 30 elderly residents of the Sree Narayana Mission Nursing Home recently.

The beneficiaries, aged between 80 and 90, were treated to a sumptuous lunch at Apolo’s Food Village and a trip to the vibrant Deepavali market in Little India. They were taken on a guided tour of the Indian Heritage Centre, where the seniors delved into the rich history of Indian and South-Asian communities in South-east Asia.

To end the day, the seniors were given hampers containing traditional treats like kaju barfi and samosas, alongside scented diyas, LED candles and a wall decoration.
