Aligned with the ASEAN-India Year of Maritime Cooperation and India’s Act East Policy, three ships from the Indian Navy’s Eastern fleet arrived at the Changi Naval Base on July 1.

INS Udaygiri, INS Shakti and INS Kavaratti, under the command of Rear Admiral (RAdm) Alok Ananda, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet, docked in Singapore for a three-day engagement, involving cross-deck visits and maritime discussions with the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN). The cross-deck visit happened between INS Udaygiri and RSS Supreme.

RAdm Alok and the commanding officers of the ships visited the Kranji War Memorial to pay their respects to fallen soldiers and also interacted with Colonel Bertram Ang, Fleet Commander, RSN.

Additionally, local students from school like Yuvabharathi International School visited INS Kavaratti to learn about naval operations and life onboard a warship, as well as the maritime values of the Indian Navy.
