Popular Tamil film actor Madhan Bob, who entertained film fans through his amusing facial expressions, laughter and characteristic protruding eyeballs, died on Saturday (Aug 2).
He was 71. He had been battling cancer, and passed away at his Adyar residence in Chennai, as reported across multiple Indian media outlets such as NDTV and The Hindu.
Known by his screen name as Madhan Bob, S Krishnamoorthy was the eighth child in his family. He has shared the screen space with many other established Tamil actors across his extensive film career.
Some of his notable performances include the memorable “Diamond Babu” in the 2000 film Thenali starring Kamal Haasan and “Manager Sundaresan” in the 2001 film Friends alongside Vijay and Surya.
He had also appeared in the popular Sun TV comedy show Asatha Povathu Yaaru as one of the judges. He was a versatile actor and musician who could make audiences laugh out loud in whichever role he took on.
