From inaugurating Durga puja pandals to trying his hand at cooking, Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho’s visit to Kolkata on Tuesday was eventful.

The 43-year-old attracted huge crowds wherever he went in the city where football mania has often eclipsed the love of cricket.

He started the day of his first visit to Kolkata by inaugurating a football academy. He then visited the Sreebhumi Sporting Club puja pandal, where his kick bypassed West Bengal Minister Sujit Bose and found the net, and paid tribute at a statue of Maradona.

He also dropped in on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at home, attended an Indian Football Association trophy unveiling ceremony and inaugurated two more puja pandals in Narendrapur and Baruipur.
