Jammu and Kashmir’s mustard fields are in full bloom, creating a picturesque landscape that’s drawing thousands of tourists along the Srinagar-Jammu national highway.
The golden-yellow fields, especially between Srinagar and Pahalgam, have become a favourite stop for travellers heading to destinations like Pahalgam and Gulmarg.
Tourists are pausing for leisure and photo opportunities, with many likening the scenic beauty to that of Switzerland.
The mustard crop, sown in October-November, blossoms in spring and is harvested by May. This year, following ample snowfall and rainfall, farmers say the crop yield is significantly better than last year.
