An acute Auto LPG shortage has disrupted daily life in Bengaluru, forcing auto drivers to queue for hours at fuel stations while businesses and households struggle for supply.

Auto unions have warned of protests, while April 9 was observed as a “black day”.

Mr Ayyub Khan of the AAP Auto Union said drivers were under severe distress due to rising prices and lack of availability, demanding compensation from the state government.

The crisis, linked to global supply disruptions, has hit hotels and migrant workers as well.

The Karnataka government has blamed the Central government, while Indian Oil Corporation urged drivers to temporarily switch to petrol.
