More than 250 alumni from Kolkata’s St Xavier’s College attended its annual convention Beyond Boundaries, which was held in Singapore this year.
A delegation of 75 from India included the college principal, Father Dominic Savio.
Over three days, a series of events were held at the Singapore Swimming Club and One Farrer Hotel.
There were panel discussions, celebrity talks, a fashion show, a musical evening featuring the popular Kolkata duo Sourendro and Soumyojit, and a Bengali film screening at Carnival Cinemas.
“Beyond Boundaries offers a platform to share updates on college happenings, growth and future plans,” said Mr Sunil Patwari, president of the St Xavier’s College (Calcutta) Alumni Association (Singapore Chapter). “It provides a unique opportunity for alumni to network, exchange knowledge and forge new friendships that transcend geographical boundaries.”
St Xavier’s College (Calcutta), set up 161 years ago, is ranked the fifth-best college in India. Its alumni include former Vice-President of India Mohammad Hamid Ansari, industrialists Lakshmi Mittal and Sanjiv Goenka and sporting legends Sourav Ganguly and Leander Paes.
