The Indian cricket team, after beating New Zealand in their Cricket World Cup clash last Sunday, enjoyed some time off. Their next match will be against England on Sunday.

From trekking adventures to taking dips in ice-cold Himalayan water, the Indian players and support staff cooled themselves in the mountains.

Batsman K.L. Rahul shared photos of himself, head coach Rahul Dravid and batting coach Vikram Rathour taking a dip in a river.

India’s last World Cup match was held at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh – one of the most beautiful cricketing venues in the world.

While India’s next assignment is in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, a few of the players stayed back in Dharamsala.

Dravid went trekking with several members of India’s support staff.

“Superb view, coming here to Triund. Just going up the mountains is quite a challenge,” he said in a video posted by the Indian cricket board (BCCI) on X.

“Too bad we can’t bring the boys up here, it is too risky walking on the stones. Hopefully they get to experience this some day.”

India beat New Zealand to maintain their winning streak and top the table. They are the only unbeaten side in the tournament, with five wins from as many matches.

However, all-rounder Hardik Pandya will miss a second consecutive game as he continues to recover from an ankle injury he suffered in the clash with Bangladesh in Pune. He will undergo a fitness test before the BCCI medical team decides on his return date.

The 2019 champions England, who lost three of their opening four matches, sit in the bottom-half of the table.
