This is an easy-to-make South Indian dish that is popular in Kerala, where it is known as thakkali pulissery.
The curry is made with fresh tomato, grated coconut, mild spices and fresh yogurt. It can be prepared in just 20 minutesAnd it can be done in just over half an hour.

Ingredients
3 tsp coconut oil ½ tsp mustard seeds ¼ tsp fenugreek seeds 3-4 green chilli, slit 2 dried red chilli, cut A few curry leaves 10 shallots, sliced 1 tomato, chopped Salt as needed ½ tsp turmeric powder ½ cup water
To grind into smooth mixture
¼ cup grated coconut ¼ cup yogurt ½ tsp cumin seeds
Method
1) Heat up a pan and add coconut oil, seeds, chillis and curry leaves. 2) Add the shallots and cook till the slices turn translucent. 3) Add tomato, salt and turmeric powder. Cook till the tomato turns mushy. 4) Add the yogurt mixture and water. Mix well and let the curry come to a roiling boil before turning off the heat.
Notes
a) Serve with plain rice or idiyappam. b) Use slightly sour curd for a slight tang to the curry. c) Coconut oil gives a nice flavour to the dish.
