Actor Vijay Sethupathi addressed the controversy surrounding his son Surya’s viral video, in which Surya is seen casually chewing gum while interacting with fans, during the premiere of Surya’s debut film Phoenix.
The clip incited anger from some netizens who questioned Surya’s manners.
Sethupathi clarified he hadn’t asked anyone to take down content and offered a public apology if anyone was hurt or misunderstood his intentions.
He also praised the film’s team and was later seen warmly congratulating his son and hugging him post-screening.
