Vikranth is one of the most talented stars in Tamil cinema, but has done very few major films in the past 17 years, perhaps because he has been overshadowed by cousin Thalapathy Vijay.
The actor, who is playing the lead role in the newly released Lal Salaam, said: “Many filmmakers asked me to bring Vijay anna to audio launch events, convince him to do a cameo, put out a tweet, appear in a song and so on. I said no to all of these.
“Anna has done so much for our family. I didn’t want to piggyback on his popularity.”
