In celebration of the upcoming festival of lights, Madame Tussauds Singapore has partnered with travel platform MakeMyTrip to launch a special festive showcase titled ‘Icons of India’.
The collaborative campaign aims to highlight the global cultural impact and glamour of Indian cinema, offering visitors an engaging opportunity to experience Bollywood stardom up close at Sentosa during the Deepavali season.
The primary highlight of this experience is the newly unveiled wax figure of international star Deepika Padukone. Dressed in a striking, red floor-length gown featuring an open-back design and complemented by long, cascading hair, the lifelike sculpture captures her signature elegance and style.
Deepika, whose career spans both Indian cinema and international platforms, has achieved global acclaim, including serving on the Feature Film Jury at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival and presenting at the 2023 Academy Awards.
Her wax figure is part of the attraction’s dedicated Bollywood section, alongside figures of leading actors such as Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Aishwarya Rai, creating a vibrant, cross-generational showcase of cinematic talent.
“Deepavali is an important celebration of Indian culture, bringing people together through the shared spirit of light, joy and togetherness,” said General Manager of Madame Tussauds Singapore, Wade Chang, emphasising the cultural significance of the festival.
He noted that through the ‘Icons of India’ campaign, the attraction is thrilled to bring guests closer to iconic stars while sharing the magic of Indian cinema with a wider audience in Singapore.
Highlighting the travel dimension of the initiative, Chief Business Officer (Holidays & Experiences) at MakeMyTrip, Jasmeet Singh, said: “Travellers today want to do more than just visit a destination. They want experiences that make the trip memorable.”
He added that with many Indian tourists travelling overseas during the festive period, the partnership makes a popular attraction even more accessible, giving visitors heading to Singapore an added reason to celebrate Deepavali abroad.
To mark the occasion, MakeMyTrip is offering an exclusive “Buy 1 Get 1” ticket promotion for reservations made between Oct 21 and Nov 15, 2026, blending entertainment, culture and holiday travel planning.
