What happens when the routines that have defined your life suddenly come to an end? Where do you find purpose when familiar roles disappear? These are the questions at the heart of Terminal Two, a new multidisciplinary production by Temple of Fine Arts (TFA) Singapore that premieres at the SOTA Studio Theatre on July 11 and 12.

Using the bustling environment of an international airport as a powerful metaphor, Terminal Two transforms a place of arrivals and departures into a space of reflection, where identity, destiny and life-changing decisions intersect. Rather than focusing on physical journeys, the production explores the emotional transitions that everyone experiences at different stages of life.

At the centre of the story is Selva, a long-serving airport janitor approaching a major turning point in his life. As retirement looms, chance encounters and moments of quiet contemplation blur the boundaries between past and present, certainty and possibility. His journey invites audiences to reflect on what remains when long-established routines fall away and new chapters begin.

Veteran actor R. Chandran, who portrays Selva, believes the production speaks to a universal experience.

“When the familiar routines are no longer there, what do you do next? The production offers an opportunity to reflect on that question and consider how we can better prepare ourselves for this important stage of life,” he said.

Musically and visually, Terminal Two promises a rich tapestry of artistic traditions. The production blends Hindustani and Carnatic music with Bharatanatyam and Odissi dance, while incorporating contemporary movement and world music influences.

Terminal Two will be staged at the SOTA Studio Theatre on Saturday, July 11, at 6.30pm, and Sunday, July 12, at 2pm and 6.30pm. Admission is by invitation (https://bit.ly/TerminalTwo), with voluntary donations welcomed to support the arts and the artistes.
