Saiyaara

The title track from the breakout Hindi musical romance Saiyaara has become a sensation in its own right. Released as a single on June 3, the moody ballad has been credited by some netizens for generating the hype that contributed to the film’s box office success.

It currently dominates both the weekly and daily Spotify Top 50-India charts, and the other singles from the movie’s soundtrack, like Dhun, Tum Ho Toh and more are also in the top ten. The title track’s music video has already amassed 178 million views and YouTube India even commented: “making us feel every emotion, Faheem Abdullah’s voice is truly soulful”.

The song opens with Abdullah’s soulful vocals over music director Tanishk Bagchi’s resonant piano phrases, gradually building up with layers from top musicians like guitarist Warren Mendonsa and drummer Krishna Kishor. The lovelorn lyrics evoke a sense of melancholy while the wistful melody pulls the listener in from the very first note.

Housefull 5

The Hindi comedy-thriller Housefull 5 will premiere on Prime Video streaming platform on Aug 1. Similar to its theatrical release on June 6, the film will be made available in two versions, Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B, each featuring a different cut of the film.

Helmed by director Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 features a star-studded ensemble with Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan leading the pack. The plot unfolds aboard a luxurious cruise where a billionaire’s inheritance sparks confusion and chaos when three men all claim to be the rightful heir, setting off a whodunit murder mystery.

The Housefull franchise stands as one of Bollywood’s most popular comedy series, celebrated for its over-the-top humor, A-list casts, and chaotic storytelling. Launched in 2010, the first Housefull film was directed by Sajid Khan under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner, and the franchise quickly gained a loyal fanbase.

WTF is

For the uninitiated, Zerodha (an Indian brokerage and financial services company) co-founder Nikhil Kamath’s podcast “WTF is” has been listed as one of the top global video podcasts on Spotify. His podcast showcases conversations with friends and experts on a wide variety of topics, ranging from tech to renewable energy.

The first episode aired on Mar 14 and the series now has a total of 13 episodes each with a minimum duration of two hours. The podcast has featured guests including Future Group founder Kishore Biyani, his brother and Zerodha co-founder Nithin Kamath, YouTuber and comedian Tanmay Bhat, and many more.

Some critics attribute the show’s popularity to Nikhil’s simplistic approach. “Each of his podcast dissects topics as if they are explaining to a 5-year-old,” one reviewer said. In asking basic questions, the guest speakers are forced to explain complex ideas in easy to understand concepts, explaining the show’s appeal.
