Mohanlal x Vinsmera Jewels
Vinsmera Jewels’ latest campaign featuring Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is making waves with its fresh, bold approach to jewellery advertising. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Prakash Varma, the ad breaks conventions by showing Mohanlal embracing vulnerability, sensuality, and playful self-admiration – traits traditionally reserved for women in jewellery ads.
Set during a shoot, the story takes a charming turn when the prized jewellery mysteriously goes missing, only to reveal Mohanlal in his vanity van, confidently draped in diamonds. Without any dialogue, his expressive dance and tender gestures celebrate beauty as a deeply human, not gendered, experience.
This daring portrayal challenges stereotypes and recasts masculinity with fluidity and joy. The campaign has gone viral, sparking conversations about gender expression and storytelling in advertising.
Thodi Si Daaru
AP Dhillon is back with a fresh yet familiar song, Thodi Si Daaru (translation: just a little drink), blending his signature laid-back Punjabi sound with a modern pop aesthetic. Featuring Shreya Ghoshal’s vocals and with the dreamy on-screen pairing with Tara Sutaria, the song revolves around the idea that just a little drink can bring old memories flooding back. This release builds on his rising global profile. He first broke through with high-energy hits like Brown Munde, Excuses, and Insane, songs that reshaped the Punjabi music landscape by merging hip-hop, R&B, and pop influences.
His debut EP Not by Chance and collaborative projects with Gurinder Gill and Shinda Kahlon helped popularise the “Punjabi trap” wave internationally, especially among diasporic audiences in Canada, the UK, and the U.S.
Karuppu
On his 50th birthday, Suriya gifted his fans the teaser of his next film – Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji. The 45th film of his career, Karuppu offers a striking glimpse of a man caught between two worlds – lawyer by day and mythic protector by night. Suriya reclaims his birth name, Saravanan, and can be seen dressed in crisp courtroom garb before shifting to a black dhoti‑clad figure echoing Karuppu Samy, a rural guardian deity.
Co-starring Suriya is the fan-favourite, Trisha Krishnan and a rich ensemble, including Yogi Babu and Indrans. Sai Abhyankar, the musician behind the independent hits Aasa Kooda and Katchi Sera is also set to make his debut in the mainstream blockbuster world, as the composer of Karuppu.
