Superstar Shah Rukh Khan on Tuesday posted on Instagram the link to the music video Not Ramaiya Vastavaiya, a new song from his upcoming film Jawan.
He wrote: “This is not chaiya chaiya. This is #NotRamaiyaVastavaiya. This is a Jawan’s tha tha thaiya...
“There are so many stories behind this song… but stories are for the 31st, when the trailer comes out. For now, just dance with me.”
The video begins with Shah Rukh in a black outfit and dark sunglasses as he pulls his signature pose.
This is the third song from the film, after Chaleya and Zinda Banda.
NDTV reported that Not Ramaiya Vastavaiya is a banger.
The video begins with Nayanthara slays the moment as she walks into the frame, dressed in a pink outfit.
Shah Rukh then takes over the dance floor with his unmatched swag and proclaims loudly, “This is Not Ramaiya Vastavaiya!”
He executes his signature dance step, the beat drops and co-star Sanya Malhotra breaks into a few killer moves, which is followed by a dance sequence between Shah Rukh and Nayanthara.
Fans all over the world are already humming the song but India Today said credit should go to Indian acting legend Raj Kapoor, who first used the phrase Ramaiya Vastavaiya in the 1955 film Shree 420.
Vasta Vaiya is a Telugu phrases which loosely translates to “come quickly”.
Directed by Atlee, Jawan will be released on Sept 7 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
It also features Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, Aaliyah Qureshi and Mukesh Chhabra.
