A video of Rajinikanth’s doppelgänger has taken the Internet by storm.
Mr Sudhakar Prabhu, who runs a tea shop at Pattalam Road in Fort Kochi, Kerala, has been trending on the Internet because of his uncanny resemblance to the Indian superstar.
Dressed in a shirt and a pair of shorts, Mr Prabhu is seen talking to a couple of men in the video, his mannerisms just like those of Rajinikanth’s.
The video was shared on X by user @despoters_12345, reported NDTV.
Mr Prabhu’s resemblance to Rajinikanth was first noticed by Malayalam actor-director Nadirshah, who was in Fort Kochi for a film shoot.
“Astounding! Sudhakara Prabhu of Fort Kochi with a likeness to him (Rajinikanth). Although he is an aristocrat by name, he is working in a tea shop,” Nadirshah captioned photos of Mr Sudhakar on Facebook.
After his photos and videos went viral, Mr Prabhu was invited to various events and functions across Kerala – a change from his norm of selling tea and serving customers with a smile.
According to DNA India, photos of another Rajinikanth-lookalike, retired Pakistan civil servant Rehmat Gashkori, went viral last year.
Mr Gashkori realised he resembled Rajinikanth when his colleagues began to point it out to him. Many then commented how his body language, hairdo and stride were similar to Rajinikanth’s.
Mr Gashkori told Arab News: “During my service in the deputy commissioner’s office in Sibi (a city in Balochistan province), I didn’t care much when people began to talk about my resemblance with Rajinikanth. But after retiring, I started using social media and people started calling me Rajinikanth. I accepted it because I realised that God has blessed me for resembling a great actor and human being.”
He added that he got mobbed by strangers asking for photographs with him when he went to Karachi for a medical check-up. Many asked him if he was really Rajinikanth, and he humbly replied: “Yes, but I am from Pakistan.”
