The Indian Film Festival (IFF) returns to Singapore for its second edition from Jan 23 to March 8, offering an even more expansive and diverse programme than its acclaimed debut in 2025.
Organised by the High Commission of India and the Singapore Film Society, this year’s edition promises a vivid cinematic journey through the richness of Indian cinema, screening 21 films across eight Indian languages at Golden Village Suntec City.
IFF 2026 curates an eclectic mix of timeless classics, box office hits, and award-winning regional films, showcasing the depth and breadth of Indian storytelling. Audiences will experience a wide spectrum of themes, from personal identity and cultural pride to social issues and historical milestones.
A major highlight this year is the inclusion of films featuring Bollywood’s three iconic Khans – Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan – whose cinematic legacies have left a lasting impact worldwide.
Audiences can look forward to revisiting beloved titles like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, 3 Idiots, Dangal, Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya, and Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman.
Beyond popular hits, IFF 2026 also honours powerful and socially relevant cinema. Screenings of URI: The Surgical Strike, Sam Bahadur, Padmavat, Krantiveer, and Mangal Pandey: The Rising bring to the fore stories of bravery, resistance, and national identity, giving audiences a cinematic window into India’s complex socio-political landscape.
A strong focus of this year’s festival lies in celebrating regional Indian cinema, which brings fresh perspectives rooted in local culture. Tamil cinema will be represented by the pathbreaking Roja and the motivational Soorarai Pottru.
Other regional gems include:
• Village Rockstars (Assamese) – a heartfelt coming-of-age tale.
• Aattam (Malayalam) – a bold contemporary narrative.
• Gypsy (Marathi), Ananta (Odia), Boong (Manipuri), and Hellaro (Gujarati) – films that amplify voices from India’s linguistic and cultural mosaic.
Each of these films offers audiences a deeper understanding of the plurality and vibrancy of Indian cinema beyond the mainstream.
IFF 2026 reaffirms the festival’s commitment to strengthening India-Singapore cultural ties and fostering dialogue through the shared language of film. As a platform for cultural exchange, the festival not only celebrates cinematic excellence but also invites Singapore audiences to experience the emotions, values, and storytelling traditions that make Indian cinema globally beloved.
