Veteran filmmaker T. Rajendar has expressed concern over Tamil cinema’s creative slump, contrasting it with Malayalam and Kannada hits like Lokah and Kantara.
“I have no envy towarsd Lokah or Kantara, but I worry for Tamil cinema,” he said, blaming excessive focus on “pan-Indian” hype and mega budgets instead of culture-rooted stories that truly resonate with audiences.
