READ: Mother Mary Comes To Me

Arundhati Roy’s deeply personal and revealing first memoir, Mother Mary Comes To Me, offers a candid look into her relationship with her mother, Mary Roy, a fiercely independent educator and women’s rights pioneer. Set against the backdrop of post-independence India, the memoir chronicles Arundhati’s childhood from Assam to Ooty, and eventually Kerala, where her mother bravely escaped an abusive marriage during the India-China war of 1962 to forge a new life as a teacher and activist.

Arundhati explores themes of family, identity, and resilience. She portrays her mother as both a protector and a disruptor, a woman who challenged societal norms, fought legal battles over inheritance rights for women, and profoundly shaped Arundhati’s own worldview.

WATCH: Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is an upcoming Bollywood romantic comedy from director Shashank Khaitan, produced by Dharma Productions and Mentor Disciple Entertainment. Starring Varun Dhawan as Sunny Sanskari and Janhvi Kapoor as Tulsi Kumari, with Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf in pivotal roles, the film will release in theatres on Oct 2, coinciding with the Dussehra festivities.

The trailer reveals a love-tangled plot: Sunny and Tulsi are both reeling after breakups with their respective partners – Ananya (Sanya) and Vikram (Rohit), who are now getting married to each other. To sabotage the impending wedding, Sunny and Tulsi pretend to be in a relationship, flaunting their fake romance to make their exes jealous. But, as the charade continues, real feelings emerge. Filled with bright visuals, snappy humour, energetic dance sequences, family drama, and wedding chaos, it promises to be a festive, feel-good entertainer.
