WATCH: Do You Wanna Partner
Tamannaah Bhatia and Diana Penty will headline an original Hindi comedy drama series, Do You Wanna Partner, as two entrepreneurial best friends who start a craft beer business in urban India. Breaking into the male-dominated alcohol startup space is already a challenge, on top of scepticism from their families, investors who underestimate them and unnecessarily complex bureaucratic procedures.
Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment, the series’ trailer has amassed 17 million views on YouTube and will premiere globally on Amazon Prime Video on Sept 12. Audiences can expect humour, relatable characters, and a story that captures the grit, heart, and hustle of a new generation of female entrepreneurs, rooted in the Indian spirit of jugaad (resourcefulness).
READ: The Surviving Sky
A Hindu-inspired sci-fi fantasy novel, The Surviving Sky tells the tale of a post-apocalyptic world, where the earth has transformed into a jungle-covered planet and the last refuges of humanity reside in floating cities above it. Here, architects are deeply revered for their designs that keep the cities up in the skies, placing them among society’s privileged elite.
Iravan is one such architect. Charismatic and powerful, he prides himself on his status, but his archaeologist wife, Ahilya, feels that he uses it to discriminate against the underprivileged. Written by Indian-origin author Kritika H. Rao, the couple is forced to save both their marriage and civilisation after a failed expedition sends their city plummeting towards earth.
