LISTEN: Usey Kehna
In the lead-up to the theatrical release of the Hindi film Tere Ishk Mein, a track about heartbreak and unrealised love, titled Usey Kehna, which translates to “Tell Her” in English, was dropped on Nov 2 on T-Series’ YouTube channel. This melancholic melody, from Tere Ishk Mein, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, is ripe with raw emotion. An AR Rahman composition, the song is sung by Nitesh Aher and Jonita Gandhi, and recounts the heartbreak of two separated lovers and the feeling of enduring sadness.
The film has been touted as the spiritual sequel to the cult favourite Raanjhanaa, both of which are directed by Anand L Rai. Set in the historic city of Varanasi, the film and score promise to deliver an extraordinary cinematic experience. Tere Ishk Mein is set to hit theatres worldwide on Nov 28 in both Hindi and Tamil.
READ: The Eleventh Hour
Critically acclaimed author Salman Rushdie is back with a unique collection of stories exploring life and death titled The Eleventh Hour. The collection of five short stories filled with musicians, bickering old men, and dead academics, will take you on a journey of magic and myth. The stories navigate anger, grief, and friendship as the characters try to find meaning in their life.
One example is a character’s tale of self-discovery after the loss of a friend. This release follows a memoir, which was published in 2024 that recounts Rushdie’s process of recovery after a knife attack that left him gravely injured. His close shave with death undoubtedly shaped these stories, making them all the more poignant.
