Do-It-Yourself fashion hacks are trending these days, and one of them is a sling bag by content creator Shweta Mahadik.

Known also as DIY Chachi, Ms Mahadik recently turned a Parle-G biscuit wrapper into a chic sling bag, leaving the Internet impressed, reported NDTV.

She shared a video of the entire process on Instagram and mentioned that she took inspiration from luxury brand Balenciaga’s Lay’s bag.

It starts with her cutting an empty packet of Parle-G, then placing the wrapper between two transparent plastic sheets.

She secures them with a black thread on a sewing machine, and attaches a red cloth and chain to the bag’s border.

“I love quirky stuff!” read the caption alongside the video, which has garnered more than 2.2 million likes.

One Instagram user said: “You are a magician. Keep creating and surprising us.”

The inspiration behind the design traces back to Balenciaga’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection, which featured handbags reminiscent of chip packets.

Ms Mahadik’s Parle-G sling bag is a witty nod to high fashion, yet accessible and grounded in the world of DIY culture, wrote India Today.
