The Singapore Malayalee Association (SMA) is set to present the 12th edition of its flagship art showcase, Varnam 2025, from Oct 10 to 12 at The Arts House, as part of the SG60 celebrations.
This annual exhibition continues to be a vibrant celebration of creativity, diversity, and community, bringing together 24 artists from across the globe under one colourful roof.
This year’s edition promises a kaleidoscope of visual storytelling, with artworks ranging from acrylic and oil paintings to mixed media pieces.
Among the featured artists are Sheena Bharathan, Ashley Christudason, Jaleela Niaz, and Rosni Bhanu – all of whom bring their unique voices and visions to the fore.
A highlight of this year’s exhibition is the inclusion of guest artist Jeffrey Wandly, a highly respected figure in Singapore’s art scene known for his emotive, architectural-themed works.
His participation lends a significant spotlight to the showcase and underscores its growing reputation within the local arts landscape.

For artists like Ashley, a long-time participant, Varnam holds deep personal significance. “To be able to exhibit my works alongside talented artists from SMA for over 10 years has been one of the highlights of my artistic journey,” he said.
French artist Elif Katranci added: “Our work through painting is a mirror for the unspoken thoughts and feelings. Varnam is a meditative invitation into our lives.”
