The Bengali Association Singapore (BAS) has announced that its grand celebration of Durga Puja 2025 will take place from Sept 27 to Oct 2 at a specially constructed marquee at the junction of Owen Road, Burmah Road, and Farrer Park Station Road.

For Bengalis worldwide, Durga Puja symbolises the triumph of good over evil. But for the diaspora, it is more than a religious occasion – it is also a cultural homecoming.

Since 1956, BAS has kept this tradition alive in Singapore, growing it into one of the most anticipated events in the community’s festive calendar.

The six-day festival will feature traditional rituals such as Pushpanjali (floral offerings), Bhog (community feast), Arati (lamp prayers), and the spirited Dhunuchi Naach (devotional dance).

Alongside these, evenings will come alive with cultural performances – from Bollywood melodies and Bengali classics to vibrant folk dances that capture Bengal’s rich heritage.

This year’s celebrations also feature guided tours of the Puja, designed to introduce visitors to the rituals and their significance, as well as a One District One Product showcase spotlighting crafts and specialities from West Bengal.

BAS warmly invites the wider public to join the festivities, witness the rituals, enjoy the performances, and experience a unique festival that blends devotion, heritage, and community spirit in the heart of Singapore.
