Apple device users can now tap in to MRT and LRT stations at gantries even faster than before – no authentication required.

By enabling Apple Pay Express mode, someone with an iPhone or Apple Watch just needs to raise their device to the gantry and payment will be processed, even if the screen is asleep.

Thirty people were evacuated after a fire broke out at a two-storey house in Kovan on Sept 5, partially damaging another house and sending thick plumes of smoke in the air.

As rescue and relief operations continue in Nepal following the devastating Aug 26 flash flood, a 35-member team of the Singapore Police Force is on the ground to support the local authorities with aerial surveillance and especially disaster victim identification.
