Handcuffed and dressed as prisoners in animal masks, volunteers of the Mercy For Animals India Foundation participated in a demonstration to raise awareness on animal cruelty at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Wednesday.
They were highlighting the suffering of thousands of animals on commercial farms in India ahead of International Animal Rights Day (Dec 10).
The placards they held had a compelling message: All animals deserve to be free.
Mercy For Animals is the largest and most effective international charity focused exclusively on preventing cruelty to farmed animals.
In India, it has obtained convictions of factory farms, pressured major companies to change how they treat animals, inspired millions to choose more plant-based foods and won major legislative victories.
